From Silk to Painting
Each painting begins with silk stretched by hand, followed by layers of flowing dyes. The work is then steam set, washed, dried, pressed and professionally stretched and framed.

A Life in Color and Movement
Lisa Rodarte is a self-taught textile artist whose creative journey began in fashion and denim design. Her early explorations with indigo dyeing led to wearable silk pieces, including kimonos, slip dresses and accessories, before evolving into the original abstract silk paintings she creates today.
Working from her Laguna Beach studio, Lisa draws inspiration from unexpected color combinations, the patterns and rhythms of nature, and the emotional connection we have with color. She is especially drawn to the way dyes move and blend across silk, allowing each painting to unfold in its own way. The unpredictability of the process is part of what she loves most, bringing a sense of peace to both mind and body as she creates.
